How far ahead should we start working with Staci?
While it’s highly recommended to make lighting a priority during the initial planning stages of your renovation, Staci can be consulted at any point. The process is similar regardless of when you start.

How does the process work?
Throughout the project, Staci will work with the client to answer questions and provide as much guidance as necessary. From the first meeting to the final installation, Staci will be available to ensure that the client’s vision for the space becomes reality.

Needs Assessment
The first meeting with Staci is held at the client’s home or office – the space in which lighting will be modified.

During this phase of the project an assessment is made of the existing infrastructure – both electrical and structural -- to determine the most cost effective approach for lighting fixtures.

Detailed measurements of the space are taken and used as the basis for the lighting design concepts. This phase helps elicit client preferences and provides vital insight to each client’s lighting goals, requirements, and expectations.

Showroom Visit
Once Staci has taken measurements and ascertained the client’s objectives, the next step will involve a visit to the lighting showroom. Here, the client can see Staci’s ideas & suggestions based on the space, functional needs, aesthetic preferences, and overall budget.

During the showroom visit, clients will be able to view the fixtures in a ‘real-world’ setting as the lighting fixtures are actually installed. This allows the customer to compare fixtures and to observe differences in the quality of light. What may appear one way in a catalog or over the internet can look remarkably different once the fixture is illuminated.

Design Decisions
The next step involves final design decisions. Once Staci and the client have pared down options, the final selections for each space are made. It is important to note that design decisions cannot be made without the first two meetings.

Walk Through with Electrician
The fourth step involves a walk-through of the space so that Staci and the electrical contractor can ensure that there are no unforeseen limitations.

Eighteen years in the field have afforded Staci the opportunity to work with some of the best electricians in the industry. During this time, she has compiled a team of highly qualified and experienced professionals. This team consists of licensed and insured electricians with whom Staci works on a regular basis, and in whom she has the utmost confidence.

Lighting Package
Step five involves piecing together the information and creating a cohesive package. This package will contain the cost of each fixture and the installation price. Once the client has decided to move forward, the lighting fixtures are ordered and installation is scheduled.

Installation

  1. Installation of lighting fixtures requires the electrician to create a rough-in. The rough-in is the preparation for placing the electrical wires in the wall & includes making access holes in the walls and/or ceiling.
  2. Once the rough-in has been completed, the electrician or painters will cover the holes made by the rough-in with plaster.
  3. The space is painted.
  4. The electrical fixtures are installed.

How does it work if I know exactly what I want?
Even if you know what you want, leave yourself open to new ideas and possibilities. Lighting, like all industries, changes constantly. What may have been on the cutting edge one year ago may now be obsolete.

A good design incorporates a client’s everyday needs. Staci works with customers to understand not only what they think looks good, but also how they plan to use the light. A plan that incorporates form and functionality results in a space that transcends the test of time and never looks “out of style.”

How long will it take to get my light fixtures installed?
While design decisions can be made within hours, the average time for prep and installation is approximately four to six weeks. Clients must allow time for the fixtures to be ordered and delivered and for an electrical contractor’s time to be booked.
